Honours for ANSTO Board Member

ANSTO Board member Professor Scott received his honour “for significant service to nuclear medicine and cancer research as an academic, and to professional organisations.”

As a renowned medical specialist, Professor Scott holds several prestigious positions including President of the World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology, Scientific Director of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) at the Department of Molecular Imaging and Therapy, Austin Health and Laboratory Head at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute, Melbourne.

Professor Scott has been an ANSTO Board member since 2007.

Professor Kumar, Principal Radiopharmaceutical Scientist from the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Westmead Hospital and The Children’s Hospital, received his honour “for significant service to medical research in the disciplines of nuclear medicine and biology, to professional organisations, and to the community.”

Professor Kumar has contributed to nuclear medicine on a global scale through involvement in the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine, the International Atomic Energy Agency and ANSTO.

Clinical Professor Howman-Giles, from The Childrens Hospital at Westmead’s Department of Nuclear Medicine, received his honour “for service to nuclear medicine, and to professional organisations.”
