Floriana Salvemini, an instrument scientist at the Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering shared highlights from the time she spent studying for her PhD in Applied Physics in a profile for Postgraduate Futures

She is one of a group of trailblazers featured in Postgrad Futures, a digital and print publication strongly aligned with the National Innovation and Science Agenda, promoting cross-disciplinary research through postgraduate placements within industry and institutions and the benefits of developing agile skills across science, health, data, business, marketing, IT and law.

With expertise in the area of neutron imaging and diffraction for the investigation of cultural heritage, physical metallurgy and archaeometallurgy, she is the head of the Cultural Heritage project at ANSTO.

In addition, Salevemini has a strong interest in the application of non-invasive techniques for the study of works of art.
