Dr Ring has over 30 years practical experience in hydrometallurgical processes. His areas of expertise include uranium leaching, oxidation processes, deportment of radionuclides in hydrometallurgical circuits and treatment of wastewater arising from mineral processing operations. Bob has written over 200 reports for industry and has been closely involved with all of Australia’s uranium operations since 1978. He leads a group that is developing innovative changes in radioactive ore processing and associated hydrometallurgical flowsheets.

Mr Collier graduated from the University of New South Wales in metallurgy in 1972 and later obtained an M.Eng.Sc. from the University of Newcastle in Chemical Engineering. He held operations and technical support positions in extractive metallurgy between 1972 and 1993 with the Peko Wallsend and the Australia Wide groups of companies in Australia, Murex Ltd in the UK and Lurgi in Germany . He has acted as a consultant to the IAEA on naturally occurring radioactivity. He is a senior professional officer working in the area of uranium ore processing, radioactivity in minerals and mine waste/water management for ANSTO Minerals.

Dr Soldenhoff has 22 years experience in hydrometallurgical process development for base metals, precious metals, rare earths and uranium, with particular emphasis on solvent extraction and ion exchange technology. She has undertaken many consulting projects with mining companies in the development of new processes as well as providing process alternatives for current plant operations. Her research interests include the development of novel separation processes for copper anode slime and the recovery of uranium from saline waters and other secondary sources.
