Dr Sergey Yakovlev is a researcher with the 'Geometry of distorted perovskites' project.

His expertise includes the synthesis of electroceramics, X-ray diffraction, ferroelectrics, solid electrolytes, mixed oxygen ionic/electronic conducting materials, perovskites and thin films.

Sergey received his Diploma of Engineering at the Department of Materials Sciences, Moscow State Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (Technical University), Russia (1999), and his PhD in Technical Sciences at the Faculty of Engineering, Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel, Germany (2004). He has held postdoctoral positions at the Institute for Materials and Surface Technology, University of Applied Sciences of Kiel, Germany (2004-2005) and the Department of Ceramics and Glass Engineering, University of Aveiro, Portugal (2005-2006). During the PhD studentship and the post-doctoral fellowship he carried out research in the areas involving dielectric/ferroelectric materials, solid electrolytes and mixed oxygen ionic-electronic conductors of perovskite and perovskite-related structures.

  • 2004 PhD in Technical Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel, Germany.
