Role at ANSTO  

• Emily is a member of the National Deuteration Facility (NDF) team. Her responsibilities include contribution to the establishment of the laboratories for production, purification and characterisation of deuterated chemicals; undertaking and/or supporting hydrogen/deuterium exchange reactions and synthesis, purification and characterisation of deuterated organic molecules and their precursors for ANSTO and external users of the NDF; responsibility for the day-to day running of the organic synthesis laboratory.

Expertise: (key words for database, no more than 20 words) eg. SEM, TEM, ceramic oxide layers

Organic and organometallic synthesis, homogeneous catalysis, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, chromatographic characterisation of organic molecules, structure elucidation by Mass Spectrometry

Qualifications & Achievements:

         Completion of the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) OECD Principles of Good Laboratory Practice course (2006)

         BSc in Medical Chemistry (1st class Honours in Chemistry), University of New South Wales, Sydney (2005)
