The ANSTO Community

Life on the ANSTO campus is lively and diverse with staff making use of a wide range of facilities and services to support their work and lifestyle.
The site is very much like a university campus with internal roads connecting more than 80 buildings spread over 70-hectares.
Surrounded by natural bushland, the campus is alive with birds and has a relaxed and quiet atmosphere thanks to limited traffic and noise. Extensive sporting and leisure facilities can be found on site, including: football fields, tennis and squash courts, barbecues, a cafeteria and swimming pool.
While the ANSTO site is surrounded by bush, it remains within close proximity to community services and conveniences.
The ANSTO cafe, located outside the main gate, offers a large menu and venue to catch up with colleagues. The cafe is also open to the general public.
Health and well-being
ANSTO is committed to the health and wellbeing of its staff through regular on-site employee health and well-being programs, including annual men’s and women’s health screening programs, health expos and wellbeing programs such as Weight Watchers. The campus also offers a number of opportunities for sport and exercise.
In addition, ANSTO provides a free employee assistance program and contributions may be made to the staff benevolent fund.

Social Club
In addition to a quality work environment, employees can join ANSTO's Social Club for a minimal membership fee.
Social activites include sports competitions, supporting charity events, a music group and children's Christmas party. Social Club members are also entitled to benefits such as discounted movie and theatre tickets.
Social and sports activities, coordinated through the Social Club, include lunchtime and post-work activities such as aerobics, touch football, yoga, bushwalking and cycling.
ANSTO has a solar-heated swimming pool which is open to all staff. The gym behind the pool hosts regular aerobics classes and other events. Several other special interest groups are represented in the Social Club, including a music club and prayer fellowship.
Parking and Transport
Many staff and their families live in the neighbouring suburbs, meaning a short commute. For those who choose to drive to work, secure and convenient on-site parking is available. In most cases, these parking spaces are within a few metres of the main buildings.
For those who use public transport, a bus service links ANSTO to Sutherland Railway Station at the beginning and end of each working day.
