ANSTO Minerals will be presenting three papers at the upcoming ALTA 2018 Nickel-Cobalt-Copper, Uranium-REE-Lithium and Gold-PM Conference and Exhibition to be held in the Perth from 19-26 May 2018.
Installation of Northern’s pilot plant is on-track for completion by 30 June 2018. The Operational team has recently been bolstered with the appointment of Tony Hadley as General Manager for the project. ANSTO Minerals worked with Tony during the early study stages of the project to develop and optimise the process flowsheet.
Hafnium oxide exceeding 99.8% HfO2, and 99.9% (Hf+Zr)O2, has been produced using the ideal feedstock for the high‐purity metallic hafnium that is in demand for alloying purposes.
ANSTO Minerals recently successfully converted a 25 kg sample of Altura Mining’s Pilgangoora spodumene concentrate to high purity 99.97% lithium carbonate. The purity exceeded the target 99.5% battery grade purity target, and was comparable with a stringent EV grade specification. This was achieved using a non-optimised flowsheet, thus the success of the program can be improved upon further.
Following commencement of a Field Leach Trial (FLT), which included an integrated ion exchange (IX) rig built, commissioned and installed by ANSTO Minerals, Boss Resources have announced the success of the trial after an independent review by Dr Dennis Stover.
ANSTO Minerals recently completed a hydrometallurgical pilot plant on the Yangibana rare earth project for Hastings Technology Metals. The process involved continuous operation of the following circuits: acid bake, water leach, impurity removal and rare earth carbonate precipitation. Project highlights included high rare earth recoveries from a relatively simple flowsheet and the production of over 50 kg of high purity mixed rare earth carbonate product.
A $50,000 Federal Government grant to Lithium Australia will assist with laboratory scale optimisation being carried out by ANSTO Minerals.
Students in their second last year of chemical engineering, industrial chemistry or chemistry degrees invited to apply for paid internships.
ANSTO Minerals presented two papers at the ALTA Nickel-Cobalt-Copper, Uranium-REE and Gold-PM Conference and Exhibition held in Perth from 21 -28 May 2016.
The AusIMM International Uranium Conference offers outstanding keynote speakers and highly experienced industry experts, covering all areas of the sector including exploration, development, production, environmental, health and safety and political aspects. ANSTO Minerals will be presenting three papers at the event.
