Health and well-being programs
ANSTO is committed to the health and well-being of its employees, research partners and contractors.
The ANSTO Health Centre provides trained specialist occupational medical resources to staff, research partners and contractors. The health centre team also focuses on proactive measures to maintain the health and well-being of ANSTO staff.
This includes regular men and women's health initiatives and the introduction of a peak health program, aimed at appropriate physical conditioning for those undertaking manual tasks to minimise the impact of any adverse body stressing.
The impact of this program has had a significant positive effect on workplace body stressing injuries.
Zero harm
ANSTO is committed to a zero-harm approach to all employees and stakeholders. However, where a workplace injury does occur, ANSTO recognises its responsibilities under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 and associated regulations.
The aim of ANSTO's approach to workers compensation and rehabilitation is based on early intervention to ensure, where possible, a full and speedy return to pre-injury duties and the active support of the injured worker through the process. ANSTO has access to a wide range of specialist rehabilitation providers.
