Atmospheric monitoring

| ANSTO Weather Station |
ANSTO publishes live meteorological data from its 49m Lucas Heights weather tower every 15 minutes.
A summary of the major climate statistics recorded at this site is provided here, along with an extended table with more statistics.
ANSTO also collects data from its environmental gamma radiation station located in Engadine NSW (near Lucas Heights) and provides updates every 15 minutes. This environmental radiation is almost completely from natural background radiation, although ANSTO's controlled airborne discharges may occasionally be detectable. ANSTO uses environmental radiation data to evaluate atmospheric dispersion from its site at Lucas Heights.
Accessible data on fine particle pollution for coastal NSW can also be found via an interactive map on the Fine Particle Pollution page.
