Technology transfer successes

ANSTO's technology commercialisation successes include:

Nano particulate membrane bio-reactor
The license for an innovative nano particulate membrane bio-reactor developed at ANSTO was sold to BioGill Environmental Pty Ltd in 2012. The technology was developed into the award winning BioGill product that can be used in aquaculture to provide clean, safe biofiltration to maintain high quality pond water and used to treat many different wastewater streams. Peripheral Benzodiazepine Receptor (PBR)

This is a protein associated with the mitochondria and is over-represented in tumours, inflammatory lesions and neuro-degenerative diseases. ANSTO has developed a family of chemical analogues with high affinity and selectivity to target the PBR with useful clinical applications, particularly imaging of cancers and diseases such as Alzheimers.

Australian Synchrotron user portal

ANSTO designed a web portal for user access to the Bragg neutron instruments. This portal was then customised and licensed to the Australian Synchrotron for their user access program. Learn more.
