Careers Q&A 


A careers day focussing on the diverse career pathways inside a major scientific and engineering facility. A panel of scientists will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the interesting and various career pathways they took to arrive at ANSTO.

Kids workshops 

 
 Atomic kids thumbnail

Atomic Kids

In this 90 minute hands-on workshop, kids discover the microscopic world of atoms, the tiny building blocks that make up everything around us. Kids will explore and touch different elements, including gold, zinc, carbon and helium, interpret the Periodic Table (the “alphabet of the universe”), build models of molecules using bonding theory, and write their own chemical formulas.

Times: 10.30-12pm (ages 6-8 only) and 1-2.30pm (ages 9-12 only)

An exciting introduction to robotics using the LEGO WeDo kits. In this full day workshop, you will build LEGO models featuring working motors and sensors, program your models and participate in fun design challenges.

An exciting introduction to robotics using the LEGO Mindstorm kits. In this full day workshop, you will build LEGO models featuring working motors and sensors, program your models and participate in fun design challenges.

Shift from being a player to a designer and learn the principles of Good Game Design. In this workshop, you will review existing games using a designer scoreboard before creating your own simple game using Microsoft Kodu.

Science Fact or Fiction 2.0; a big screen experience where the World Wide Web collides with cutting edge science.
