ANSTO's research capabilities, led by the OPAL nuclear research reactor and associated instruments provide access to users investigating areas as diverse as materials, life sciences, climate change and mining/engineering.

- Monochromator and analyser channel-cut perfect crystals: Si(111) and Si(311), interchangeable
- Minimum momentum transfer: qmin = 3·10-5 Å-1
- Optional: Bent Si(111) analyser crystal for high intensity/low resolution measurements, e.g. for kinetics
