Mr Tim D'Adam
Tim joined ANSTO in 2012 as a professional officer and played a key role in the commissioning and operational service of the 3He polarisation station at The Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering (ACNS). This has involved the construction and integration of infrastructure on several of the institute’s neutron beam instruments including on-beam tests of 3He neutron spin filters and associated Sample Environment (SE) equipment ranging from closed-cycle refrigerators to high field magnets. Tim has great knowledge in the fields of magnetism and cryogenics. Tim started recently to study for PhD in Chemistry at The University of New South Wales. His research involves studying single molecule magnets using the Time-of-Flight neutron spectrometer PELICAN at ACNS. His PhDs also involves extensive development of the beam line equipment to enable polarised neutron measurements.
PhD candidate at the University of New South Wales, Kensington (2016 - present)
