Dr Nicolas De Souza
Instrument Scientist

Role at ANSTO

Nicolas has been responsible for the new EMU cold-neutron backscattering spectrometer at the OPAL research reactor, since joining ANSTO in 2010. His prior experience covers quasielastic neutron scattering with neutron spin-echo and time-of-flight techniques at reactor and spallation sources, respectively, as well as neutron and X-ray reflectometry.

His current materials research interests centre on molecular associating liquids, particularly the interplay of structural and dynamical correlations, in pure phases, solutions, and confinement.
