About ANSTO's human health research

Many things may affect a person's health including the quality and availability of food and water, community health issues, environmental and physiological challenges such as ionising radiation, and the prevention and treatment of disease.

ANSTO's human health research infrastructure addresses some of these large issues, working at the molecular level using the unique capabilities of nuclear technologies to probe the fundamental properties of living matter. Through collaborations and partnerships we address interdisciplinary research questions in health, medicine, biology, agriculture, food and nutrition.

Using our expertise, capabilities and resources, works to reveal biological pathways and to improve prevention, diagnosis, and therapy strategies for disease.
