Dubbed the ‘Oscars of Australian Science’, the annual Australian Museum Eureka Prizes will be held in Sydney on 4 September, 2013.

 

ANSTO is an integral part of the prizes, sponsoring an award category, the ‘ANSTO Eureka Prize for Innovative Use of Technology.’
 

The 2012 $10,000 prize was awarded to Associate Professor Wei Shen and his Monash Team whose Bioactive Paper Diagnostics tool demonstrated a new way of using technology to improve research outcomes.

 

The Eureka Prizes are awarded annually by the Australian Museum and recognise excellence in many fields including scientific research and innovation. It is highly competitive, with 18 prizes awarded in four categories:
 

  1. Research & Innovation
  2. Leadership
  3. School Science
  4. Science Journalism and Communication
