An works in the ANSTO/BMRI collaborative imaging facility where he provides support for in-vitro molecular imaging.


Background


After graduating a B.Sc. (Hons.) from the University of New South Wales, An was employed as a Research Assistant at the Save Sight Institute. In this position, An used proteomic techniques to elucidate the factors that cause macular telangiectasia, a rare eye condition that causes loss of central vision.


An later completed a M.Sc from the University of Sydney where he help develop a novel mass spectrometry-based technique to aid in the detection and surveillance of influenza and parainfluenza.


Research interests and areas of expertise


An provides support in tissue sectioning, quantitative autoradiography and immunohistochemistry. His research interests lie in neurophysiology, in-vitro imaging and proteomics.
