Role at ANSTO

As part of the NST Strategic Research Services and Engagement team, Gita’s main role is responsible for identifying opportunities utilising technical knowledge of ANSTO’s capability and galvanising internal support for commercial related activities with existing and new partners.

Having a background as a preclinical imaging scientist in ANSTO, Gita has extensive knowledge and experience in in vitro analysis, quantitative autoradiography, and immunohistochemistry.   

Gita is highly skilled in small animal imaging techniques, utilising positron emission tomography (PET), single-photon emission computerised tomography (SPECT) and computed tomography (CT) scan. 

Gita graduated her research Master’s degree studying the neuro-regulation in obesity from the University of Wollongong. Since joining ANSTO, Gita has expanded her knowledge on the application of nuclear technology on various diseases and fields, including industrial use.

Gita is also an emerging science communicator with passion of promoting medical science and awareness.
