Dr. R. Siegele, has a MS from the Heidelberg University and a Ph.D. from the Technical University of Munich. He is a Senior Research Scientist in the Accelerator Science Affinity Group and is responsible for the microbeam facilities at the ANSTO accelerators. Before joining ANSTO he was a postdoctoral Fellow at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, where he was developing Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis (ERDA) and applying it to materials problems. Since joining ANSTO in 1995 he has developed the heavy ion microprobe at ANSTO and has applied it in materials, environmental and geological research.
