Steve Vikatos is the Regulatory Officer (OHS&E, Quality) for the Institute for Environmental Research within the Science Support group. Having graduated from the University of NSW with a BSc (Technology) in Industrial Chemistry in 1976 he later returned to UNSW and completed a Graduate Diploma in Safety Science in 1993.
In 1996 he attained ISO9001 Lead Auditor certification. He has over 20 years experience working in chemistry laboratories in the manufacturing industry sector and over 15 years in Occupational Health & Safety.
Steve's role within the Institure is the co-ordination and management of the ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems as well the regulatory aspects of ARPANSA and OHS legislation.
