Role at ANSTO

Rao is a synthetic chemist in the Chemical Deuteration team at the National Deuteration Facility (NDF) at ANSTO. His research involves synthesis and characterisation of deuterium labelled organic compounds. He is also interested in the development of new methodologies for synthesis deuterium labelled organic compounds such as branched chain fatty acids, saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. He has strong back ground in synthetic organic chemistry and have had a wide array of fields of medicinal chemistry/  organometallic chemistry and characterisation.

Expertise

Organic synthesis/ organometallic synthesis, characterisation by 2D NMR, microwave and parallel synthesis.

• Ph.D in Organic Chemistry, University of Wollongong (2004)
