ANSTO's research capabilities, led by the OPAL nuclear research reactor and associated instruments provide access to users investigating areas as diverse as materials, life sciences, climate change and mining/engineering.
Access to Major Research Facilities Program (AMRFP)
The Access to Major Research Facilities Program (AMRFP) supports access by Australian researchers from industry, private and public research organisations and universities to major international research facilities that are not available in Australia or to attend overseas strategic planning meetings to secure access to a major research facility.
AMRFP is administered by ANSTO and was proudly supported by the International Science Linkages (ISL) program. The ISL program supports Australian scientists, from both the public and private sectors, to collaborate with international partners on leading edge science and technology (S&T) in order to contribute to Australia's economic, social and environmental wellbeing.
AMRFP supports is limited to the facilities listed in the linked table.
Access to international synchrotron facilities is managed through the International Synchrotron Access Program (ISAP) which is administered by the Australian Synchrotron (AS).
This program primarily supports travel where time has been granted on an overseas major facility following peer review. Collaboration visits will not be supported unless time has already been granted at an eligible facility.
Limited Funding Available for travel between August to November 2012
ANSTO is currently receiving applications for travel between August to November 2012. Applications that meet the application conditions will be approved and funded in chronological order of receipt until funds have been committed. Due to the limited funds, travel support will be limited to airfares only and up to a maximum of 2 researchers only.
