Information for teachers

The Ansto Discovery Centre provides a number of tour packages, downloadable resources. Our tours and resources are syllabus focused and designed to be entertaining while sparking an enthusiam for science. Each tour invloves an onsight component where students will visit the fascilities at Ansto to see some of the practical applications of the lessons given.

In addition to tours and resources for download we run a Scientist in Schools and Professional Development programs.

ANSTO has provided free guided tours of its facilities to the public for over 20 years with 10,916 people participating in a record 563 tours in the 2011/12.
 

The tours are each tailored to suit the needs of primary, high school and university students, community organisations, business and scientific association and VIPs. 

It is evident from the regular feedback received that the tours are a powerful tool in educating the community of the benefits of nuclear science while dispelling commonly held misconceptions.
