ANSTO's Year in Industry Internship Program
ANSTO has been conducting Year in Industry Internship and similar programs at our Lucas Heights Science and Technology Centre in conjunction with Australian Universities since the late 1980's.
(Click here for LucasHeights Location Map http://home.ansto.gov.au/ansto/dir.html)
Our Year in Industry Internship program, YII, is open to University students who have completed 2 years of a 3 year degree, or have completed 3 years of a 4 year degree. To be eligible you will have at least one full year's study remaining in your undergraduate or honours degree at the completion of your internship at ANSTO.
We offer opportunities to take up a full time industrial experience placement for up to 12 months.
YII internship opportunities at ANSTO span a broad spectrum of areas including scientific, engineering, business and information technology disciplines.
University students may apply for YII internships where industrial practice is a mandatory part of their studies or where it is an elective subject. In either case internship holders should be formally acknowledged by their University as participating in the program and must provide evidence of this to ANSTO.
An ANSTO supervisor will be nominated to manage each internship holder and their program. Specific learning objectives will be developed for each internship holder in the context of ANSTO's requirements and regular feedback given on performance.
At present YII internship opportunities are only available to students studying at Australian Universities who have appropriate Australian work rights.
