Dr Anne Rich's responsibilities lie primarily in operation and maintenance of the small-angle x-ray scattering instrument (SAXS) as well as the x-ray reflectometer.

Her expertise includes XAS (XANES and XAFS), resonance Raman, IR, EPR, HPLC, ITC (isothermal titration calorimetry), UV-Vis, electrochemistry and protein purification.

Qualifications and achievements:

  • Honorary Associate in the School of Chemistry, University of Sydney, 2007.
  • SBRP (Superfund Basic Research Programme) Travel Award, 2001.
  • SBIC (Society of Biological Inorganic Chemistry) Grant for Young Scientist, 2001.
  • Cornforth Medal from The Royal Australian Chemical Institute for the best chemistry PhD thesis in Australasia, 1998.
  • Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry, University of Sydney, 1997.
  • James Kentley Memorial Travelling Scholarship, 1993.
  • Australian Postgraduate Research Scholarship - Priority Award, 1991, 1993 and 1995.
