Paul leads the Bragg Institute Data Analysis Team, responsible for driving the software and infrastructure development for the treatment of data sets during the acquisition phase of experiments, as well as providing tools for the visualisation and fundamental algorithmic manipulation of the data sets. The team provides expertise in the use of a number of data analysis suites, and develops software for the export of data sets to custom formats for further analysis. The team is also responsible for contributing to, and promoting, international standards for data formats and algorithms at the OPAL facility.
Paul's expertise lies in the fields of data acquisition systems, instrument control systems, software engineering, scientific algorithm development, agile software development
Paul Hathaway is a Professional Engineer with a background in data acquisition systems, control systems and software engineering. His experience in industry has ranged from computer network support at the University of Ottawa, through the redesign of equipment on locomotives, to the field testing and performance analysis of railway vehicles for FreightCorp using mobile data acquisition systems developed for harsh environments.
