Dr Peter Vorderwisch provides advice on the construction of the Taiwanese cold-neutron 3-Axis-Spectrometer SIKA at the new OPAL reactor
His areas of expertise include condensed matter physics, using inelastic neutron scattering. Lattice dynamics, magnetic excitations, crystal-field transitions, molecular motions, structural and dynamical aspects of the martensitic transformation in ferromagnetic shape-memory alloys.
Peter comes from the Hahn-Meitner Institute in Berlin where he worked for more than 40 years in neutron physics. He has also spent time as a EURATOM research fellow at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre S.C.K./C.E.N. Mol (1970-1972) and as a visiting scientist at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the United States (1985-1988).
