Dr Norman Xiong is involved in data analysis project development, providing data reduction capability, supporting data analysis tools and algorithm development for the users of OPAL neutron beam instruments.
His expertise includes computational intelligence, pattern recognition, data clustering, neural networks, object oriented programming and Matlab simulation design.
Dr. Norman X. Xiong has been with the data analysis group since December 2006. His current research interests include computational intelligence, pattern recognition, data clustering and neural networks He brings with him eight years of experience, as a research assistant at the Computer Intelligence Laboratory in the University of Illinois at Chicago, from 2000 to 2006 as well as a software developer at the Harbin Hitech Special Software Institute in Harbin, from 1998 to 2000. Additionally he administered the website for the IEEE International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control (ICNSC) in 2006.
