Your proposal with a beam-time request will be judged on the basis of
We encourage you to discuss your proposal with one of the instrument scientists before submission; we are happy to assist you in establishing contact with our scientists as necessary.
When using the on-line proposal submission system please enable Javascript. It is also advised to enable cookies and pop-ups (e.g. for help windows).
You can access the system by creating an account. After having filled in your personal details you can write your proposal. The proposal is divided in several sections (menu bar on top) asking for information on: experiment, researchers, instruments, samples and figures. Please look here to see how the pages look like
On submitting your proposal you will be asked to accept our terms and conditions.
The proposal is split up into 5 main sections which ask you details of the experiment such as researchers, instruments, title etc followed by a section where you provide a detailed description of the proposed experiment including scientific background.

Edit your account details, including password change, or log into the proposal section.
Edit user information
Fill in general information about users, such as contact details etc.
Your proposal(s)
Create a new proposal or modify existing proposals if they are not yet submitted to the proposal review.
Create proposal
Before submission please complete the five pages (experiment, researchers, instruments, samples, figures). At any time you can independently edit/modify one of the pages, but make sure that each page of your proposal is saved or submitted before finishing a session so that your changes are updated in the system. An inactive session will be timed out after 60 minutes; unsaved changes will then be lost
Experiment
Your proposed experiment should provide the following information:
Researchers
Provide the researchers involved in the experiment. Please note that a proposal editor can edit the proposal on-line, whereas a co-proposer does not have access, but could be part of the experiment team. The ANSTO contact will be a scientist at ANSTO providing support when carrying out the experiment (usually an instrument scientist).
Instruments
You can ask for more than one instrument. Ancillary equipment for sample environment is made available by ANSTO, but note that not all a device can be installed on all instrument; if unclear please check with instrument scientists or the responsible for sample environment. When bringing own equipment please provide as much details as possible, including any possible hazards.
Samples
There will be a number of sub-pages for providing the different information required, e.g. chemical composition, crystallographic information, etc.
Figures
Due to current technicalities the figures cannot be uploaded with the scientific text, but they will appear with the text when the proposal is printed. You can provide up to 3 figures in the following formats: jpg and gif
Submit
You can print your proposal before submission. After submission you will not be able to edit your proposal. If you encounter any problems please contact xxxx
