What to Expect:

The PrimeSCI! Synchrotron Education Team is excited to welcome you to the ANSTO Australian Synchrotron! Learn how the Australian Synchrotron combines science and technology to produce cutting edge research.

Invite your children to join PrimeSCI! for the Synchrotron and its Applications (Year 10 - 12)  hands-on physics lab sessions. Participants can take part in experiments using specialised equipment to learn about the interaction of light and energy, nuclear physics, radioactivity and dark matter.

The Colours of Light (Year 10 - 12) lab session is aligned with the VCE Chemistry Curriculum, with hands-on experimental application of colorimetry and spectroscopy.

Both programs also include a tour of the Australian Synchrotron - a rare chance to see this world class facility.

The holiday workshops will be running on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 January 2026
