At ANSTO, we are committed to fostering a workplace that is inclusive and equitable for all employees. As part of our obligations under the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012, we report annually to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA).
Our Gender Pay Gap Results for the 2024 Reporting Period
- Average total remuneration gap: 6.0%
- Median total remuneration gap: 7.8%
These results reflect improvement from 2023, where our average gender pay gap was 7.2%.
Understanding our gender pay gap
Our gender pay gap is influenced by the shape of our organisation, with more women employed in lower‑band administrative and support roles. It is also impacted by a disproportionate number of men working in shift‑based roles that attract additional allowances, increasing average remuneration for men.
Our commitment
ANSTO is committed to continuing to improve workplace inclusion and equity. Our focus includes:
- Supporting greater gender balance across our workforce
- Strengthening pathways for women into higher‑paid, leadership and STEM roles
- Increasing women’s participation through inclusive hiring practices, development opportunities, and better access to flexible work and family‑friendly benefits
- Challenging gender stereotypes in roles and encouraging more women to pursue careers in STEM
- Monitoring remuneration outcomes to ensure fairness
We are proud to be endorsed by WORK180 as an employer of choice for women.
ANSTO remains dedicated to building an inclusive, equitable workplace where all employees can contribute and thrive.
