Clip Day 2024 Accommodation, Meals and Transport

Hotel Details

This is a residential course and as such, all successful applicants are expected to stay at the Hotel including local Sydney and Wollongong based participants.  Please contact the Organisers via email if this presents a barrier to your participation.

ANSTO has booked individual rooms for successful EOI applicants at Rydges Cronulla Beachside , 20-26 The Kingsway, Cronulla NSW 2230. 

Bookings consists of 2 night's accommodation:

  • afternoon check in Wednesday 5th June 
  • morning check out Friday 7th June.

If you intend on staying at the Hotel for more than the allocated 2 nights, please book and pay  directly with the Hotel. 

  • The Hotel is situated a short walk to Cronulla beaches.
  • The closest train station to the hotel is Cronulla (7 min walk from station to hotel - 600 metres).
  • There is a wide range of cafes and restaurants in the area around the hotel and beach.
  • To travel by train from Cronulla to the Sydney CBD takes approximately one hour.

Transport

Transport from home to Hotel

Participants are responsible for their own transport from home to the hotel and from the hotel to home.

Transport to ANSTO Lucas Heights

ANSTO have arranged for coach transfers between the hotel and ANSTO.  Please arrive promptly for the times mentioned below. If you miss the bus, you will be responsible for arranging your own transport to ANSTO by taxi or Uber. NOTE: There is no public transport to ANSTO.

Thursday
  • An ANSTO representative will meet you at Rydges Hotel lobby at 7.45am on Thursday 6th June.
  • The bus will leave ANSTO after the poster session and dinner at approximately 8pm 
Friday
  • The bus will depart at 7.50am from the designated bus spot (marked by the purple star on the map below).
  • The bus will leave ANSTO after lunch and drop all participants at Sutherland train station.

Public Transport

Sydney’s public transport is cashless for all trains, buses, light rail and ferries. The cost of the ticket will depend on the distance travelled. Prices can be found here.

If you have a contactless payment enabled credit card or device (e.g mobile phone or smart watch) this can be used for payment. Be aware that your bank may charge overseas transaction fees.  Alternatively, you can purchase an OPAL transport card or single trip ticket at the Domestic and International terminal railway stations or at any of these locations.

Please note there is surcharge to get on and off at the airport stations

Other Transport Options

Taxi – Please note an estimated fare from the airport to your hotel is approximately $80AUD and would take about 40 minutes in normal traffic (17km).  

Uber is available in Sydney.
