Shenal Basnayake is CEO of the Australian Science Teachers Association and is responsible for leading a team of dedicated professionals committed to promoting the profession of school science education and enriching science teaching. Shenal's experience spans senior executive and Board roles in Australia and overseas within the private, public, and not for profit sectors.
Shenal has an interest in youth development, supporting underrepresented communities and the eco-economy. Shenal holds several degrees specialising in human resources, international relations, climate change and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Shenal enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, and when time permits watching movies and documentaries.
