Rachana is a biotechnologist with specialisation in protein biochemistry. She holds a PhD in Chemistry, master’s in food biotechnology and a bachelor’s in biotechnology. She was awarded ANSTO beamtime grants for her research during her PhD at the University of Melbourne. Her research interests include chemical biology, biological microscopy, proteomics, and Scicomm. Her creative interests include art, baking and photography. With a background in food biotechnology, she is as experimental in the kitchen as in the lab. She actively participates in Women in STEMM endeavours, and wants to show young students how interesting science can be.
