2026 DMTC Guest of the Chair Fellowship

ANSTO Licensing Officer Meghan Hennessy has been appointed as the 2026 DMTC Guest of the Chair Fellow.

Meghan Hennessy

DMTC (formerly the Defence Materials Technology Centre) is a not-for-profit Australian Defence industry collaboration organisation bringing together Defence, industry and research institutions to deliver priority capability outcomes.

Established in 2023, the DMTC Guest of the Chair Fellowship is a mentoring and leadership development initiative that provides emerging leaders with the opportunity to observe and gain insights into the work of a board of directors within a not-for-profit organisation operating in Australia’s defence and national security innovation ecosystem.

“This fellowship is an opportunity to deepen my understanding of how high consequence strategic decisions are made and to strengthen my ability to translate technical expertise into meaningful influence,” Ms Hennessy said.

ANSTO CEO Shaun Jenkinson offered his congratulations and said he was delighted to see Meghan supported into a senior leadership pathway: “Developing innovative, future leaders is an investment in Australia’s sovereign science and technology capabilities, ensuring we remain diverse, resilient and futurefocused.”

Ms Hennessy was also awarded a place in the IAEA’s Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme in 2025.

Ms Hennessy holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from ANU. She’s completing a Master of Engineering Science (Nuclear Engineering) at UNSW, receiving postgraduate study support through the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering Elevate: Boosting diversity in STEM program, which provides scholarships and leadership development opportunities for women and nonbinary people in STEM disciplines.
