Inelastic Neutron Scattering School

This week, together with AINSE, the Institute is hosting a School on Inelastic Neutron Scattering, for students, postdocs and other early-career researchers. The school is open to both local and international participants, but with a  limit of 20 participants, to ensure small group sizes for the practical experiments.  The school will feature all four of ANSTO's neutron spectrometers, PELICAN, EMU, TAIPAN and SIKA, which can collectively measure energy transfers between 1μeV and 60meV.

Students, postdocs and staff attended from 5 universities in Australia, 4 in Taiwan, the China Institute for Atomic Energy and ANSTO itself.  The workshop has largely been organised by Gail Iles, with significant help from other neutron spectroscopists at the Institute, the User Office and ANSTO-Communications.
