Quality and Risk Manager

Kathleen manages the quality and document management systems, and oversees procedures for inspection, testing, and calibration of equipment and systems, to support the accelerator operations and beam lines. Prior to the Australian Synchrotron, Kathleen worked for a number of manufacturing and automotive organisations, in leadership roles primarily focused on Quality, Process and Risk Management.

At GM Holden Aftersales, Kathleen lead compliance to ISO 9001:2000 (Quality), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental), AS/NZ 4801 (OHS), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), Process Risk Management; implementation of Lean practices; supplier development, reduction in parts warranty claims; and prepared GM Holden's first Action Plan for its membership into the Australian Packaging Covenant, a sustainable packaging initiative.

Kathleen has also worked as Lecturer in the Department of Mineral Science at Murdoch University. Kathleen's qualifications include a Diploma in Quality Auditing, a Graduate Certificate in Organisational HR & Safety, and a CSIRO sponsored PhD in Engineering.
