
Professor Senden is an accomplished physical chemist and currently is the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Infrastructure and Entities) at the Australian National University. He previously held the position of Director of the Research School of Physics at the university for over 10 years.
He has held academic positions at the College de France (Paris), Institute Charles de Sadron (Strasbourg) and the University of New South Wales (Australian Defence Force Academy) in Canberra.
He received his PhD in Atomic Force Microscopy from the Research School of Physics and Engineering in 1993.
