Transport
Participants are responsible for their own transport from:
- Home/airport to Hotel on Sunday, 15 November
- ANSTO/Sutherland Station to the airport/home on Friday, 20 November
ANSTO has arranged daily transport between the hotel and ANSTO. However, the coach will go to Sutherland train station after the school has concluded on Friday for those who require public transport options.
On Monday - Friday, the bus will depart at 8:15 AM from outside the hotel. Please arrive promptly. If you miss the bus, you will be responsible for arranging your own transport to ANSTO by taxi or Uber. The bus pick-up location is marked with a red star below.
NOTE: There is no public transport to ANSTO.

Please note an estimated fare from the airport to your hotel will be approximately $80AUD and would take about 40 minutes in normal traffic (19km).
Public Transport
Sydney’s public transport is cashless for all trains, buses, light rail and ferries. The cost of the ticket will depend on the distance travelled. Prices can be found here.
If you have a contactless payment enabled credit card or device (e.g. mobile phone or smart watch) this can be used for payment. Overseas attendees, please be aware that your bank may charge overseas transaction fees. Alternatively, you can purchase an OPAL transport card or single trip ticket at the Domestic and International terminal railway stations or at any of these locations.
Please note there is a surcharge to get on and off at the airport stations.
Hotel Details
This is a residential training course, hence it is expected that local Sydney and Wollongong based participants will also stay at the hotel for the duration of the school. Please contact the Organisers in advance if this presents a barrier to your participation.
Each participant will have a single room booked and paid for at Miranda Metro Hotel (522 Jackson Avenue, Miranda, NSW 2228). Anyone that does not stay at the hotel and has not advised in advance will incur the full cost of the room for the duration of the course.
Bookings consist of:
- 2 PM check-in Sunday, 15 November 2026 (Sydney locals can opt for Monday check-in).
- Morning check-out Friday, 20 November 2026
The closest train station to the hotel is Miranda Station (5 min walk from station to hotel - 350 metres).
There is a wide range of cafes and restaurants in the area around the hotel, including Miranda Westfield shopping centre across the road which has many food and retail options.
To travel by train from Miranda to the Sydney CBD takes approximately 40 minutes.
Meals
All meals while attendees are onsite at ANSTO will be included (morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch). Dinner will be provided at the poster session on Tuesday, 17 November and at the networking dinner on Thursday, 19 November. All other meals are the responsibility of participants.
