Recent catastrophic Australian bushfires produced extremely high levels of fine particle pollution.
Research reveals that strong westerly winds weaken the Southern Ocean’s ability to store carbon and thereby contribute to faster accumulation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere
A team of scientists from The Australian National University (ANU) has discovered how a powerful “weapon” used by many fungal pathogens enables them to cause disease in major food crops such as rice and corn
A limited amount of travel support is available to students from AINSE member institutes to travel to the New User Sympsosium.
With a well-established portfolio of nuclear research and the operation of Australia's only nuclear reactor OPAL, ANSTO scientists conduct both fundamental and applied research on fuel for current, advanced, and future nuclear technology systems.
Publications by ANSTO's National Deuteration Facility.
Chemical deuteration involves deuterating whole molecules or building blocks for the synthesis of a desired molecule by exposing them to heavy water (deuterium oxide) at high temperatures and pressures in the presence of a catalyst. If required, compounds can then be synthesised from the deuterated building blocks using organic chemistry techniques.
Micro-Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis (µERDA) is used to reconstruct elemental maps from scanned raster points.
