Role at ANSTO

On site radiation safety training course with four participants

Featured radiation courses

ANSTO is a recognised leader in radiation safety training, offering courses recognised by industry and relevant regulators.

Soft x-ray spectroscopy

Soft x-ray spectroscopy

Soft x-rays are generally understood to be x-rays in the energy range 100-3,000 eV. They have insufficient energy to penetrate the beryllium window of a hard x-ray beamline but have energies higher than that of extreme ultraviolet light.

Far Infrared beamline

THz - Far Infrared

The THz/Far-IR Beamline couples the high brightness and collimation of a bend-magnet synchrotron radiation to a Bruker IFS125HR spectrometer providing high-resolution spectra (0.00096 cm-1) with signal to noise ratio superior to that of thermal sources up to 1350 cm-1 for gas-phase applications; the beamline also delivers signal to noise ratio superior to that of thermal sources up to 350 cm-1 for condensed phase samples.

Giulio
Consultant Health Physicist

Giulio Ruiu (also known as Julian) brings over a decade of specialised experience in radiation safety, with a strong focus and passion for radiation protection and the practical application of safety principles.

harry-singh
Health Physics Surveyor, Radiation Services

As Health Physics Surveyor at ANSTO, Harry conducts surveys of sites assessing radiation from various radioactive sources ensuring compliance in line with relevant regulations and policies.

New underground lab to shed light on dark matter

Stage 1 of the Stawell Underground Physics Laboratory was officially opened today. It will be home to multi-disciplinary scientists from five research partners who help us understand dark matter.
