The User Office is the first point of contact for all new and returning facility users accessing ANSTO’s wide range of world-class research infrastructure. These users may be internal ANSTO researchers, external merit researchers, commercial clients, scientific collaborators and partners.

Hot Isostatic Press machinery in Synroc demonstration plant at ANSTO

Hot Isostatic Pressing

Hot Isostatic Pressing supports advanced manufacturing by increasing a material's density and reducing porosity. This capability complements ANSTO’s extensive suite of instruments and techniques for characterising materials and final products.

Prof Timothy Senden
Board Member, Member Risk and Audit Committee

Professor Senden is an accomplished physical chemist and currently is the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Infrastructure and Entities) at the Australian National University.

ANSTO aerial

Vision

ANSTO is one of Australia’s largest public research organisations and is widely recognised as an international player in the field of nuclear science and technology.

CORIS360® - New radiation imaging solution

Features and benefits

Overlaying a 360° x 90° radiation image onto a panoramic optical image of the scene, makes interpretation much easier. The spectroscopic detector at the heart of the imager enables the accurate visualisation and identification of sources across a broad energy range.

Stephen Holt
Instrument Scientist

Stephen received his PhD (Physical Chemistry) from Griffith University in 1996.

ANSTO Staff member reviewing data on computer screen in Minerals pilot facility

Facilities

ANSTO has a full suite of mineralogical, chemical and hydrometallurgical facilities from laboratory through to pilot scale.

Cape Grim

Capabilities and applications

CAS delivers ultra-sensitive analysis and precision irradiation within an end-to-end user experience framework, supporting the research journey from initial idea through to impact and training the next generation of scientists and innovators.
