Leadership changes at ANSTO

This afternoon, the Chair of ANSTO, Dr Annabelle Bennett, wrote to all staff to let them know that CEO Dr Adi Paterson has decided to resign. She said the Board is deeply appreciative of the contributions Adi has made, including to the health, research and academic outputs of ANSTO during his tenure. Mr Shaun Jenkinson will continue as Acting CEO, while the Board undertakes a global search for a permanent CEO.

Competitions at ANSTO 2026

ANSTO holds a variety of citizen science competitions every year for primary and secondary school-aged students and the general public to win great prizes.

Year 3 to 6: Science at Work! Tour

Visit world-class science facilities and learn about the important role of scientists in society and the different environments they work in.

Students participate in a fun and engaging "Colour and Light Show" and discuss their science interests with our experienced education team.

All tours are available Monday to Friday for Year 3 to 6 classes. The cost per student is $9 and teachers are free.
