About 70 representatives from business and industry groups, local business chambers, councils and the education sector from southern Sydney heard about ANSTO’s plans to establish and Innovation Precinct at the Lucas Heights campus during an invitation only local stakeholder briefing at the campus.

ANSTO CEO Adi Paterson provided an overview of the vision for the Innovation Precinct, which has the potential to create jobs and provide a positive economic impact to the local and southern Sydney economy.

Special guest Dr Francine Papillon, Head of the Programs Coordination Group at the GIANT Innovation campus in Grenoble France, shared learnings from the successful establishment of their mega precinct in 2009.

The pair was joined by Sutherland Shire Councillor and Director of Planning Peter Barber and ShireBiz committee member Tony Blain, as part of a discussion panel which generated lively and positive commentary and questions from those in attendance.

The conversation flowed into brunch which closed the briefing event, held on 15 March.
