Senior Stable Isotopes Analyst

Role at ANSTO

Mrs Barbora Gallagher is a senior stable isotope analyst with ANSTO Institute for Environmental Research. She joined ANSTO as a permanent staff member in 2005.  

Currently, Barbora's main field of work involves stable isotopes analysis by Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) and Cavity Ring Down Spectroscopy (CRDS), with the main focus on 2H, 18O, 13C and 15N isotopes in water and solids.

Her role also involves assisting in laboratory management and is responsible for maintenance, safety and organisation in the laboratory. Barbora also develops new methods to increase the isotope capabilities offered by the laboratory to researchers and external clients. She assists with field sampling as well as other inorganic analyses.

Previously, Barbora was involved with ion chromatography and ultra-low level tritium analysis giving her the right tools to have a strong analytical and quality focus.
