The THz/Far-IR Beamline couples the high brightness and collimation of a bend-magnet synchrotron radiation to a Bruker IFS125HR spectrometer providing high-resolution spectra (0.00096 cm-1) with signal to noise ratio superior to that of thermal sources up to 1350 cm-1 for gas-phase applications; the beamline also delivers signal to noise ratio superior to that of thermal sources up to 350 cm-1 for condensed phase samples.

Deaf Youth Science Camp

Deaf Youth Science Camp

The Deaf Youth Science Camp is a chance for Deaf/hard-of-hearing young people (aged 12-17 years old) to participate in an immersive science experience. 

At the camp, participants will do hands-on science activities, go on tours of different science facilities, and meet Deaf STEM professionals. The camp is also an opportunity to develop personal and leadership skills as well as enhance friendship networks. 

This camp is hosted by Deaf Youth Australia and ANSTO. In 2025, the camp was funded by a National Science Week grant.

 

 

World Environment Day 2019. Beating air pollution

Safe export of spent fuel

His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley visited ANSTO’s Innovation Centre nandin and several facilities including the OPAL multipurpose reactor this week for a tour after learning of the ANSTO-nandin win in the NASA SpaceApps COVID 19 Challenge.
