ANSTO co-developed technology LieNa® receives funding boost in a win for Australia’s lithium and critical minerals industry
A world-first processing technology developed in collaboration by ANSTO’s Minerals unit.
Role at ANSTO
Innovator in energy and sustainability uses power of synchrotron light to make advances
Crucial expertise in groundwater benefits Australia
Using nuclear techniques to help sustain Australia's finite groundwater resources
Nanoprobe beamline (NANO) - under construction
The BRIGHT Nanoprobe beamline provides a unique facility capable of spectroscopic and full-field imaging. NANO will undertake high-resolution elemental mapping and ptychographic coherent diffraction imaging. Elemental mapping and XANES studies (after DCM upgrade) will be possible at sub-100 nm resolution, with structural features able to be studied down to 15 nm using ptychography.
Expertise in characterising materials for lithium ion batteries
Pioneering work on materials for energy production, such as lithium ion batteries, has made ANSTO a centre of specialist capabilities and expertise.
United Uranium Scholarship - Guidelines
This scholarship recognises outstanding ability and promise in the field of nuclear science and technology, specifically as it applies to nuclear energy. Successful applicants will demonstrate a history of interest in nuclear energy and a desire to continue this interest.
Next-gen wearable electronic devices
Ultra-flexible electronics has many potential applications within areas such as for example the military, healthcare and energy.
Using uranium to create order from disorder
The first demonstration of reversible symmetry lowering phase transformation with heating.
ANSTO recognises scientific achievement, leadership, external collaboration and outreach at Awards event
ANSTO recognised the contribution of individuals and teams to nuclear science and technology at the 2023 ANSTO Awards Ceremony held on 25 July.
