Light it Up!
Year 9 - 10 (Topic taught at Year 9/10 curriculum level)
2.5-hour workshop (9:30am - 12:00pm or 1:00pm - 3:30pm)
Advances in scientific understanding rely on developments in technology and society's needs. Students can take part in experiments using specialised equipment to illustrate concepts in physics of interaction of light and energy, nuclear physics, radioactivity and dark matter. The program also includes a tour of the Australian Synchrotron where participants will learn what makes the facility so unique - a rare chance to see this world class facility.
