Deaf Youth Science Camp is back for 2026! Deaf Youth Science Camp (DYSC) is a fun 4-day immersive science experience for Deaf/hard-of-hearing young people (aged 12-17 years old). Held at ANSTO at Lucas Heights, Sydney, the camp is a mix of hands-on science activities, outdoor activities and excursions to nearby science centres. Participants will work with Deaf professionals to learn about careers in STEM, develop personal and leadership skills and meet new friends. This camp is hosted by Deaf Youth Australia and ANSTO, and funded by a National Science Week grant.

ANSTO is one of the world's leading providers of irradiation services for silicon ingots, which are used by the multimillion dollar electronics industry across Europe and Asia. Each year, ANSTO irradiates more than 50 tonnes of silicon.

The BRIGHT Nanoprobe beamline provides a unique facility capable of spectroscopic and full-field imaging. NANO will undertake high-resolution elemental mapping and ptychographic coherent diffraction imaging. Elemental mapping and XANES studies (after DCM upgrade) will be possible at sub-100 nm resolution, with structural features able to be studied down to 15 nm using ptychography.

ANSTO offers reliable and traceable calibration services for radiation survey meters, contamination monitors and electronic personal dosimeters.

The ANSTO Science Series is a live and virtual meet-up that focuses on the key capacities of ANSTO’s people, partners and facilities and how they are meeting global challenges in sustainable industries, medicine, advanced manufacturing and in accelerating small business.

With enhanced submicron spatial resolution, speed and contrast, the Micro-Computed Tomography beamline opens a window on the micron-scale 3D structure of a wide range of samples relevant to many areas of science including life sciences, materials engineering, anthropology, palaeontology and geology. MCT will be able to undertake high-speed and high-throughput studies, as well as provide a range of phase-contrast imaging modalities.
