The Program
Expected Outputs
By the end of this course, participants are expected to understand the basic concepts and challenges for establishing the production of various emerging cyclotron-based radiopharmaceuticals for future clinical applications in their countries. Interesting examples and cases studies will be drawn from F-18 radiopharmaceuticals (beyond FDG), as well as new metal-based positron emitter radiopharmaceuticals (e.g. Cu-64, Zr-89 radionuclides). The design and execution of preclinical studies will also be presented with a tour of a preclinical facility.
Scope
The training course will be centred on the production and quality control of emerging cyclotron-based radiopharmaceuticals with consideration of equipment and important parameters such as chemicals used, radioisotope purity and molar activity that are suitable for preclinical studies and translation to first in human evaluation.
The content will be delivered in the form of lectures, interactive discussion sessions and guided tours of related facilities.
